Whenever I create a PDF, the thumbnails are black. Why?

You should only use the option to create thumbnails with Click to Convert when the PDF is intended for users of Adobe Acrobat Reader version 4.x or earlier.
Begining from version 4 and on, Acrobat Reader automatically creates the thumbnails, so this option is not required when creating PDFs with Click to Convert.
