Q: I tried removing Click to Convert, but it still leaves the Click to Convert toolbar icon or other 'traces' in my system. How do I manually remove Click to Convert?
Mike Stokes July 25, 2009
A:
Click to Convert can be removed using the Windows 'Add/Remove Programs' option under 'Control Panel'. However, some security settings in Windows and/or MS Office applications may prevent total removal of items such as the toolbar icons.
To manually remove Click to Convert, please follow the steps below:
1. Close all programs that are running - including MS Outlook.
2. Delete the 'Click to Convert II' printer from the Windows "Printers" folder in Start->Control Panel->Printers and Faxes.
3. Press the CTRL + ALT + DEL keys together and 'kill' the file 'C2Cmonitor.exe' (or 'C2CMon~1.exe') process in the Windows Task Manager (under the 'Processes' tab).
4. Also remove the shortcut which starts the C2CMonitor.exe upon Windows startup. To do this, remove the shortcut to the C2CMonitor from your Window Startup folder in the Start->All Programs->Startup menu.
5. At this point, you can safetly delete the Click to Convert installation folder. On most systems, this would be:
C:\program files\clicktoconvert\
(Replace 'C:\' with your system drive, if different.)
6. Search your system for the following files and delete all instances that you find:
PPEngine.dll
Purepage.exe
clicktoconvert.xla
clicktoconvert.ppa
c2c.dot
7. *Advanced users can also safetly delete the following Registry folders:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Inzone Software
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Inzone Software
*NOTE: Step 7 is for users who feel comfortable editing the registry. This step is for 'housekeeping' purposes only - to clean up unnecessary entries in the registry. Leaving
these folders in the registry will not affect the operation of Windows.
Users not familiar with, or not comfortable with, editing the Windows registry, should not complete this step.
8. Reboot your system.

Thank you.
